"You have to understand you're staying in a heritage building, within a town centre, above a busy, excellent pub/resteraunt. To some extent, the bedroom is a secondary consideration. However, staff very friendly, room warm & comfortable, food excellent and ideal for exploring Alnwick. Great stay, but don't expect the Ritz. "

"My family and I absolutely loved this B & B. Everything was done to a high standard, the staff were amazing and great with my two little ones. The food they do as well was fantastic. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to stay, just outside of Edinburgh. Carly, the owner is so lovely and friendly too. I honestly can't recommend this place enough! "Our first experience wasn't great because we discovered the Queens Head wasn't tended full time and we had to call an emergency number. However,we discovered that the sister hotel, the Castle had a room and in the circumstances they paid for a taxi to collect our luggage so all was well in the end. The Castle was very cosy and the staff were very helpful and polite"

"The location was great, doors old fashioned and locks are very noisy at 1.30am was woken up with other people coming in. Beds need an update very uncomfortable can feel springs in mattress, the whole place needs an update, Staff where very good very helpful and friendly. shame about the accommodation, not a four star.
